A Plan or Design That Understands You: September's Newsletter, in Short

Architecture decisions depend on three things: what the business wants to achieve, the standards its architects are willing to bet on, and the system it already runs. Too often, those live in separate places. The September issue of Architecture Deconstructed, published on October 6, looks at what changes when an AI architecture team can reason over all three together.
The context behind the decision
The Architecture Knowledge Base (AKB) brings business objectives, architecture standards, and the live system into one connected semantic model. A service is connected to the products it supports, the infrastructure it depends on, and the constraints a proposed change has to respect. Human and AI teams can work from that shared context instead of reconstructing it for each question.
Archie, rebuilt
Archie-3 is the rebuilt reasoning engine working over that model. It investigates the live system, shows its steps, and challenges a premise when the evidence disagrees. The issue includes an internal test where a question assumed a Kubernetes migration was complete. Archie checked the environment, found nine services still deployed, and made the unfinished migration the starting point.
That example comes from a ten-question internal evaluation on one workspace. It is a useful look at the reasoning, with the limits of that small test kept explicit in the full issue.
From a design to a recorded decision
Blueprints now carry their review history, decisions, and reasons on-platform. Diagrams show what a design adds, changes, or preserves. The release also adds ways to follow Archie's work, flag unresolved references, and trace Plans back to their source files.
The companion article, What It Takes to Do an Architecture Control Plane Right, explains how the pieces fit: a living record, expert reasoning grounded in it, and a system of work that carries decisions into delivery and governance.
